HostArmada is an up-and-coming hosting company that’s built its reputation on cloud-based infrastructure, fast support, and a feature set that punches above its price point.
I took it for a spin to see if the claims hold up.
What Makes Cloud Hosting Different?
With traditional shared hosting, your website shares a server’s resources (CPU, RAM, storage) with dozens or even hundreds of other sites. When one of those sites gets a traffic spike, your site can slow down too.
Cloud hosting works differently. Your site runs on a virtualized environment with dedicated resources.
HostArmada uses KVM virtualization, which means your allotted CPU and RAM are actually yours and not shared with your neighbors. If the underlying hardware needs an upgrade, it can happen without any downtime on your end.

It’s a meaningful step up from shared hosting without jumping all the way to managing your own VPS, which comes with technical burdens.
What is HostArmada?

HostArmada launched in 2019 and has grown quickly. They offer a range of hosting products including shared cloud hosting, WordPress hosting, WooCommerce hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers.
What caught my attention is that all of their plans include features that other hosts charge extra for:
- Daily backups (7 to 21 days, depending on your plan)
- Malware scanning and a WAF firewall
- Free SSL certificates on all domains
- Free website migration
- Free domain for the first year
- 24/7 support via chat, phone, and tickets
They also have 11 data center locations spread across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, so you can pick the server closest to your audience.
My Experience Testing HostArmada
HostArmada has a client area you log into for managing billing and your account settings, as well as accessing the live chat customer support (more on that later).
For managing your website, they use cPanel, which is an industry-standard tool. You’ve probably used it before with other hosts. It’s not as sleek as a custom-built dashboard, but it’s functional and familiar.
Setting Up WordPress
WordPress installation is a one-click process through cPanel’s Softaculous installer. If you’ve ever launched a WordPress site, then you’re certainly familiar with this process.

You configure a few key details like your login credentials, and the installation only takes a few seconds. Nothing groundbreaking, but it works without any hiccups.
Transferring a site
I tested HostArmada with a small hobby blog I launched a few years ago. While they do offer a free migration service, I opted to transfer my site myself using the WP DB Migrate Pro plugin. The transfer was fast and painless, which isn’t always the case.
Performance
I used WP Speed Reaper tier of their WordPress hosting, which offers a generous amount of both CPU and RAM.

Out of the box, my site loaded quickly and has been running smoothly since.
The most important performance factor IMO when evaluating a host is the connection speed. My site was connecting in 274ms on average, which is pretty good, and much faster than budget hosts.
I have sites running on another host that connects in 40ms, but it costs literally 25x as much as HostArmada. For the performance and uptime they offer, their pricing is very competitive.
It’s also nice that they include 6GB of RAM on the WP Speed Reaper plan, as that can help tremendously with database query performance. This can help a lot when running analytics locally with a plugin like Independent Analytics.
For a basic WordPress site or blog, the performance is more than adequate. It would be hard to validate spending much more for marginal performance gains unless you’re running a high-volume eCommerce store or other site where performance is critical for your conversion rates. For the vast majority of sites, such as blogs and small business sites, HostArmada’s WordPress hosting offers more than enough power.
Customer Support
I used the live chat to ask a few questions about the daily backups and firewall. I placed in a queue with 1 person in front of me. I received a response from Ruby P. about one minute later. My subsequent questions were answered within seconds.

The support was fast and helpful, which makes me confident in giving it a recommendation. Personally, I would not use or recommend a host that doesn’t offer live chat like this.
Security
Every plan includes a Web Application Firewall, malware scanning, and proactive server monitoring. You don’t need to install a separate security plugin just to get basic protection, though you certainly can if you want more control.
I do wish they were more transparent about their firewall and their patches. I would like to receive email alerts whenever a zero-day vulnerability gets patched, for instance. It could be an opt-in-only feature, so that the average user doesn’t get confused or worried by these emails.
Pricing
HostArmada offers three WordPress hosting tiers:
- WP Launcher ($1.99/mo intro) — 1 website, 15 GB NVMe, 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM
- WP Evolver ($3.29/mo intro) — Unlimited websites, 30 GB NVMe, 4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM
- WP Speed Reaper ($3.95/mo intro) — Unlimited websites, 40 GB NVMe, 6 CPU cores, 6 GB RAM, LiteSpeed
The introductory prices are very competitive, but keep in mind they do increase at renewal. This is standard practice across nearly all hosting companies, so it’s not unique to HostArmada, but it’s worth being aware of.
All plans come with a 45-day money-back guarantee, which is more generous than the 30-day window most hosts offer. Note that this is valid for 1-3 year purchases, and not monthly subscriptions.
Who is HostArmada Best For?
HostArmada is a solid choice if you’re:
- Running a small to mid-sized WordPress site
- Looking to upgrade from cheap shared hosting without a big price jump
- Wanting reliable support you can actually reach
If you need enterprise-level managed WordPress hosting with staging environments and Git integration, you might want to look at more premium options. But for the price, HostArmada delivers a lot of value.
Final Thoughts
HostArmada isn’t trying to be the flashiest host on the market. What they’re doing is offering a well-rounded hosting package with genuinely good support and solid cloud infrastructure at an accessible price point.
The cloud-based setup with dedicated resources gives you better reliability than traditional shared hosting. The inclusion of free SSL, daily backups, and malware protection on every plan means you don’t have to bolt on extra services just to get the basics covered. And the support team is responsive and helpful, which matters more than most people realize until they actually need it.
If you’re outgrowing your current shared hosting or starting a new WordPress site and want something a step above the bargain-basement options, HostArmada is worth your time.
