The first time I installed WordPress I was terrified. I had no clue if I’d ever get a site up and running, and I was only partially sure what a server was.
Even with my newbie tech skills, WordPress enabled me to launch and run dozens of sites. Through countless hours of trial and error, I grew quite savvy at launching WordPress sites, picking out good themes, and installing the right plugins.
The trouble is, it took me a long time (and quite a bit of money) to find out how to pick a good theme. It was clear to me that many theme developers weren’t actually WordPress users themselves.
After seeing this, I decided I should take my perspective – a user who didn’t know what “CSS” meant or how to build child themes, but knew WordPress in-and-out – and try my hand at theme development.
Now, as a WordPress developer, I haven’t forgotten what it’s like to be new to WordPress, and that’s who I design for.
