    Theme Description

Booklovers is a gorgeous and elegant theme for the modern bookstore. The aesthetic is crisp, the colors are bold, and the typography gives the design an air of sophistication. Everything from the menu items to the book listings is presented clearly and beautifully on desktop and mobile devices.

If you look around the Booklovers demo, you’ll see there are many different components available for page building. You can use the Visual Composer plugin with pre-built blocks in Booklovers to create custom layouts. There are blocks available for “Reader picks,” email signup forms, and popular authors just to name a few.

Booklovers is capable of handling a large volume of book listings. You can publish curated collections of books and list every title on the WooCommerce shop page. To assist with navigation, the store has filtering for categories, price, and tags. In typical WooCommerce fashion, the book pages themselves have product shot, rating and reviews, a full description, and related products below.

    Theme Description

Book Store is another theme that could handle a bookstore that needs to list hundreds of titles. If you have a large selection to upload, this could be the best theme for your site.

Book Store has a friendly and colorful design. You’ll recognize a similar style and layout on the product pages from other WooCommerce themes listed here. The shop pages themselves have category and price filtering options and two different styles of product listings to choose from.

While the screenshot above is nice, there’s actually a lot more to discover in the demo and on the theme listing page. For instance, there are five unique homepage layouts to choose from, three bundled plugins (Visual Composer, Slider Revolution, and Mega Menu). There’s one-click demo install data, so you can get your site setup fast. And of course, there’s a full theme options panel with plenty of options for colors, typography, and more.

    Livre

    Theme Description

Livre has a few distinct styles, so don’t just take the screenshot above as the only example of what this theme can do. Livre has some really interesting and creative designs not found in other themes listed here.

Livre is extremely stylish and has a premium quality that’s immediately obvious. It integrates with WooCommerce which means the product pages have full descriptions and customer reviews. However, the book pages also have buttons to flip to the back cover and look inside, and there’s even a “Meet the Author” tab. It’s nice seeing some extra features included specifically for a bookshop in this theme.

The Livre theme has some amazing premium features too. There’s a special deals template for promoting book sales, multiple shop style variations, and special previews for movies, games, and music if you wanted to expand your product offerings. And if you’re interested in making your bookstore a multi-vendor site where members can register and submit/sell products, Livre even has complete integration with the WC Marketplace plugin.

  • 5. DigiSeller by Templatic

    DigiSeller

    Theme Description

DigiSeller is a theme for selling eBooks. It’s got a clean and inviting style that will get visitors clicking and browsing your titles.

DigiSeller isn’t a flashy theme, but it’s minimalist and easy to navigate. While it integrates with WooCommerce like the other themes here, there’s a little more variety and creativity on the product pages. For instance, you can add buttons for Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and multiple other shops where your books may be listed instead of just selling the title on your own site. With free sample downloads included, DigiSeller is a pretty cool theme for selling eBooks.

Without filtering options on the category pages, DigiSeller may not work great for huge quantities of books, but it would be excellent for a smaller bookstore. It also has some special features for digitally delivering the eBook downloads without WooCommerce if you’d prefer not to use that plugin. In addition, there are also other monetization features included such as Google Adsense spots.

    Publisher

    Theme Description

Publisher has a simple and sensible design for an author with many books or a small bookstore. It also comes with some pretty cool eCommerce features.

Publisher has product reviews, related products, image galleries, and free samples for any book you list. There’s a built-in eCommerce solution with the theme, but you can also use WooCommerce or simply link to Amazon for all of your sales.

The straightforward style of this theme will draw visitors’ attention straight to the books you have listed. There’s a nice balance between graphics and typographic elements that help the cover art stand out more than any other element. If you’re looking to list hundreds or thousands of books, Publisher probably isn’t the best choice, but it will work great for a smaller selection.

    Theme Description

This theme puts a twist on the typical bookstore website. It’s got a style and layouts that make it work great for an individual author or bookstore with a smaller selection. You can use it for frequent blogging to build up an audience alongside the eCommerce store on the site.

Writer uses a sidebar layout throughout the site including on eCommerce pages. You can see in the demo how the designers use this to promote a brand with an “About Me” widget in the sidebar.

The Writer theme is highly flexible and comes with plenty of features. There are three different homepage layouts, a media content manager, a shortcode builder, and full WooCommerce integration. This bookstore theme also comes bundled with Visual Composer for drag-and-drop page building as well as Slider Revolution for adding beautiful responsive sliders to any page.

Which bookstore theme is best for you?

If you need a theme for a large online bookstore that will list hundreds of books, Booklovers and Book Store are both excellent options. Book Store is a great theme, but I’d recommend Booklovers first due to its gorgeous and thoughtful design.

For a unique design, consider the Livre theme. It’s a beautiful theme and has tons of creative layouts for selling books online.

Templatic has a couple themes on this list, Publisher, and DigiSeller, and both of them have similar strengths. They’re minimalist, clean, and have a few bonus features for selling digital eBooks.

If you want a hugely customizable and flexible theme, Aurum is probably your best bet. It can also be used for a lot of additional niches if you want some reuse from your theme.

Lastly, Writer is a smart alternative for anyone who will only be selling books from one or a few authors. With the integration of the blog into the design, it will work great for building an audience and brand.
